In 1980s, reform and opening-up surged throughout China. With the deepening of market economy reform, fundamental changes have taken place in the foreign trade system and management structure of China. Since 1987, Chinese foreign trade enterprises have gradually embarked on a road of independent operation while taking responsibility for their own profit and loss. The number of such enterprises has increased considerably and their scope of operation broadened. Competent foreign trade authorities at various levels have also begun to shift their functions to macro-control. Against such a background, an intermediary is necessary to coordinate the work between government and enterprises and among enterprises themselves. Hence China Chamber of Commerce of Metals Minerals & Chemicals Importers & Exporters—a self-disciplined organization that provides service to enterprises—came into being in 1988. CCCMC gathers some of the largest companies in the relevant industries of China. The business of its member companies covers ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, non-metallic minerals and products, construction materials, coal and coal products, oil and oil products, chemicals, plastics, fine chemicals, agro-chemicals, rubber products, etc.
In recent years, the total import and export volume of minerals, metals and chemicals accounts for 26.9% of the total import and export volume of China, among which the import volume accounts for 37.0% and the export volume accounts for 18.5%. CCCMC has a membership of 4,150 by June 2007, including foreign trade companies, manufacturing companies, joint ventures, private enterprises and research institutes. The total export volume of its members takes up 30% of that of the whole industry and an average of 300 member enterprises are listed on the Top 500 Exporting Enterprises of China every year. The members of CCCMC can represent the overall level of the metal, mineral and chemical industries in China.
Service is fundamental to CCCMC. Services are provided not only by giving information but also by offering coordination and guidance. The services of CCCMC include: coordination service in metals, minerals, chemicals exports, coordination service in bidding commodities, organization service at the Chinese Export Commodities Fair, organizing response to anti-dumping lawsuits, verifying export prices for customs clearance, Internet information service, overseas exhibition & training service, CCCMC Journal and some other publications (Complimentary), organizing seminars on the international market, credit investigation of international customers and delinquent collection and commodity market and consulting service as well. All the work of CCCMC is guided by the standard of providing quality service. CCCMC is making every effort to provide such service.
In the 21st century, China’s socialist market economy is improving and its reform is deepening as China enters into WTO. With both challenges and opportunities ahead, CCCMC is charged with heavy tasks. However, just as its logo displays, being aggressive and enthusiastic is our belief; all-round development and diversified service are our consistent pursuits; “Serving Enterprises and Valuing Human Resource” is the evergreen guideline of CCCMC. CCCMC will further update its concept, sharpen its service awareness, widen its service scope, improve its service quality and better its service style so as to render prompt, efficient and excellent services and contribute to the foreign trade development of the country, thus opening up a new outlook for its work.

IFOAM is the worldwide umbrella organization for the organic movement, uniting more than 750 member organizations in 108 countries.
Organic trade is a rapidly growing reality all over the world. The growth rates of the organic sector demonstrate that organic products are moving from the “niche” and entering mainstream markets. The total land under certified organic production worldwide has reached over 26 Million hectares. IFOAM is at the center of this development.
International Relationships
IFOAM actively participates in international agricultural and environmental negotiations with the United Nations and multilateral institutions to further the interests of the organic agricultural movement worldwide. IFOAM is uniquely recognised for taking on this important role. The introduction of the Principles of Organic Agriculture and the recognition of IFOAM by international institutions is of enormous importance for the further development of organic agriculture
The Organic Guarantee System
IFOAM provides a market guarantee for integrity of organic claims. The Organic Guarantee System (OGS) unites the organic world through a common system of standards, verification and market identity. It fosters equivalence among participating IFOAM accredited certifiers, paving the way for more orderly and reliable trade whilst acknowledging consumer trust in the organic ‘brand’.
Facilitating Networks and Market Development
Through IFOAM programs, conferences and events, IFOAM is laying the groundwork for the further development of organic agriculture and its markets worldwide. Through IFOAM World Congresses, International Trade conferences, commodity specific (coffee, seeds, wild products, etc.) and other events , IFOAM brings together the key players from all over the planet to facilitate trade in organic products.

The U.S. Grains Council develops export markets for U.S. barley, corn, grain sorghum and related products. The Council believes exports are vital to global economic development and to U.S. agriculture's profitability.
Founded in 1960, the Council is a private, non-profit corporation with nine international offices and programs in more than 50 countries. Its unique membership includes producer organizations and agribusinesses with a common interest in developing export markets. Membership funds trigger matching market development funds from the U.S. government and support from cooperating groups in foreign countries to produce an annual development program valued at more than $25 million.
The Council tailors its programs to meet individual countries' cultures and needs. Our technical programs teach livestock and poultry producers how to use feed grains effectively and manage their operations efficiently. Our trade servicing efforts educate potential and current customers about the U.S. marketing system, including financing, government programs, U.S. feed grains quality and prices. Our trade policy initiatives identify foreign barriers to U.S. feed grains exports
